RFP SJVLS 15-002: Evergreen ILS Development

Purpose

SJVLS intends to migrate from our current SirsiDynix Horizon library management system to the Evergreen open source library management system in March 2016. To this end SJVLS is seeking a vendor to 1) develop specific additional functionality in Evergreen, 2) facilitate the migration by assisting with configuration of Evergreen, transforming and loading data exported from Horizon, and training SJVLS and select member library staff and 3) provide ongoing support for Evergreen. SJVLS is seeking proposals both for a vendor-hosted system and for an on-premises Evergreen installation.

Background

SJVLS serves the public library systems of Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Mariposa, and Tulare Counties, and the city/district libraries of Coalinga-Huron, Porterville, and Tulare. In all, SJVLS represents 10 library jurisdictions and 111 individual library locations including large urban, medium city/suburban, and small, isolated rural libraries. [See
http://www.sjvls.org for a map of branch locations.] SJVLS has a long history of sharing a single library management system and of actively sharing our library resources.
SJVLS attempts to provide the member libraries with services that can be performed more economically as a consortium than as individual libraries.
