Strategic goal #4:
Improve communication and collaboration among SJVLS members, SJVIS, and SJVLS Automation Office.
Objective #1: Provide effective support for electronic communication.
- Project 4.1.1. Install an Exchange server and e-mail accounts for SJVLS member library staff.
- Project 4.1.2. Provide basic training via multiple delivery methods in effective use of e-mail.
- Project 4.1.3. Develop a secure system Intranet for sharing of information.
Objective #2: Promote wider system member involvement in planning and decision-making.
- Project 4.2.1. Encourage use of videoconferencing when travel time to meetings is a barrier to attendance.
- Project 4.2.2. Explore use of Microsoft NetMeeting or similar software to promote collaborative work on system projects.
Objective #3: Support telecommuting options for member library staff.
- Project 4.3.1. Identify and Install a secure method for staff to access non-public areas of system servers via home PCs.
