The Friends of the Ranchos Library

The Friends of the Ranchos Library promote and support the library by sponsoring fund raising events, children's programs, community outreach programs and used book sales.

They meet the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Ranchos Library.

Madera Ranchos Library

Mission Statement

To meet the knowledge and information needs of the Madera Ranchos community while promoting literacy, library membership, library usage, and thereby establishing the importance of this valuable institution in our society.

Brief History

The Madera Ranchos Library, located in the Maywood Shopping Center, has been in existence for 16 years. We began as a small store front, but in response to the steadily increasing population of our community, we have expanded our collections and tripled the physical space of the library.

Children's Story Time

Story Time is on Mondays at 11:00 a.m.
Please bring your children for some fun and entertainment.

Today

The Madera Ranchos Library offers a wide selection of current bestselling books, audio books on CD and cassette tape, movies on DVD and VCR tapes, music CD's, and paperbacks in fiction and non-fiction. We have a comfortable children's section with a hands-on learning area for preschoolers and early elementary age children. We also have a young adult section, which contains the latest fiction and non-fiction titles of particular interest to teenagers. As a branch of the Madera County Library system, the Madera Ranchos Library is a public library, and part of the San Joaquin Valley Library System which covers six counties in the Central Valley.

Computers/Copier

Four computers with internet access are available
to anyone 11 years and older with a library card.
A computer for typing only is also available.
Printing/copying is available for 15 cents per page (black and white),
and 75 cents per page (color).
