Internet Access at the Madera County Library

Introduction

All electronic resources, accessible through the Madera County Library, are provided equally and free of charge to all library users in good standing. Internet access is part of the library’s mission to help meet the educational and recreational needs of its patrons. The library staff offers limited assistance to its patrons, but does not provide instruction in computer usage.
Patrons who use the library and its resources are expected to abide by the generally accepted rules of public behavior. Illegal acts involving library materials and resources may be subject to prosecution by local, state or federal officials.
Parents or guardians must supervise their children’s Internet sessions at all times, and are responsible for the Internet information selected and/or accessed by their children.
The library does not select material available on the Internet. It provides access to it. There are no criteria for content or age appropriateness. Not all sources on the Internet provide accurate, complete, or current information. Madera County Library is responsible only for the content of its own web site, and it does not guarantee the security of any personal data that you input. The library does not endorse products or services that are on the Internet, and is not responsible for any products or services that you order on the Internet.
