A Portuguese colonial possession until 1975, the small, oft-desputed island region of East Timor is currently the focus of a major United Nations development mission.
Locating maps of Timor prior to the Portuguese withdrawal can be a challenge. Those posted below are far from comprehensive, and we would welcome further additions.
